Billy Dixon, hero of the Battle of Adobe Walls, has traded in the Sharps carbine for a stubby pencil and a ledger book—he's now the postmaster of Adobe Walls. When Clint Adams pays his old friend a visit, he's surprised but pleased to see Dixon at peace.
