Roxy Doyle and the Queen of the Pasteboards

Lottie Deno is one of the most famous gamblers of the Old West, making her name in various Texas towns. But in 1877 she and her man, Frank, moved to Kingston, New Mexico where they ran a gambling room in the Victorio Hotel. In 1880 they got married in Silver City, and in 1882 moved to Deming, New Mexico and gave up their gambling ways. It is at this time that Roxy Doyle, Lady Gunsmith, comes to Deming and meets Lottie. It seems some men have come to town to draft Lottie into playing for them in a big poker tournament, and if she doesn’t they’ll kill her husband, who they have kidnapped. It falls to Roxy to get Lottie out of the situation, find Frank, and keep any of them—Frank, Lottie or herself—from being killed. One of Lottie’s nicknames was “Queen of the Pasteboards.”
